Canadians and the 2025 Rally

The posts have drifted off topic.
How about a poll of Canadians who will, or won’t be travelling to the U.S for the foreseeable future, without wasting time on the why?
Start a poll and see where it leads. Then there could be another poll on how many US citizens will or won't be traveling to Canada in the foreseeable future.

Perhaps a better or more on topic question might be “how many Canadian MOA members active in the forum are planning to attend the 2025 rally?” That might produce some results useful for planning and such. Given the sampling subset here- BMWMOA members who are/are not Canadian—I don’t think a more open question posed here would produce meaningful results that could, or should, be extrapolated to the population in general on either side of the border. There’s always a certain amount of skew inherent in any forum’s sampling.

Best,
DeVern

On the flip side, I’m from Minnesota, and hope to make another Lake Superior circle tour this summer. Hoping to find a good chip stand and enjoy some poutine along the way. Neys Provincial Park has always been a favorite place to camp. I convert dollars to loonies at my bank before going. Sounds like a great trip, eh?

"Given the sampling subset here- BMWMOA members who are/are not Canadian and are frequent forum users" (Which I'm guessing is a much smaller subset of the MOA membership than many would like...)

I will not travel to Russia, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Sudan, Hungary, or Venezuela any time soon.
Does that leave Iraq as still on the potential list to visit? I will not travel to 5 of the 7 continents and two countries that make up the N American continent. Since the Canuks think they can boo our national anthem [ thereby making sports a political statement ] I'm not interested in anything Canada has to offer while Mexico is a crap shoot for safety concerns. I'd visit Australia.

Well, it's rather disappointing, and sometimes it seems that member(s) want threads closed by inflammatory posting. We have just taken care of a couple of recent postings that poster(s) should have known better but forged ahead anyway.
There are some relevant postings in the thread that may help travel between the two countries so there was some cleanup of the posts in question.
Please keep in civil.....and on track the best we can.
TIA

Can ya please let it go? Did you miss Lee's request?
As this thread has devolved into how people (riders) are seen- and treated, some anecdotes probably 25 years old, it’s easy to remember that the decisiveness is constantly being shown to be “okay”.

From the “Check First Allstate” commercial now airing-

The family is undoubtedly eager to meet him … until he shows up at the door wearing a Duke T-shirt.

I have found that showing respect while traveling gains respect while traveling.

Safe, enjoyable, respectful travel in the future for all.

As a Georgia Tech Yellowjacket, I get it. :ha

I am from Ontario and will be travelling in the Yukon and Alaska in June. In our national newspaper today a columnist wrote and article on how both Canadians and Americans would benefit from being a little more self aware right now. Canadians who have been booing during the anthem should not do so. But you should know that they are not booing the American people. They have been booing the comments being made that we are nasty, stealing from our neighbors and are not a real country. I wish you safe travels and a great Rally this year!

If any of our friends from eastern Canadian provinces need a pit stop on their way to Lebanon this year our guest room in northern Vermont is available. It holds a double bed so accommodations are good for one traveler (or two if good friends). Must love dogs and one fat hussy of a cat.

I'm bred and born Canadian and frequent the USA. If they let me into their fine country I will continue to visit. I am going to the National Rally regardless. I'm from central Alberta and will be leaving about a week before if anyone is looking for someone to ride with. I camp, drink Craft beer and enjoy Bourbon. Life is too short to worry about things I cannot change. See you at the Rally.

Cheers, Leon

Nearly everyone has a "worry & bothersome" list... but we all have a limited lifespan.

"get busy living"... those three important words, from a powerful movie and similar to your take on current affairs!

I like your attitude Leon!
Well said to both you and Leon!

You must know Patrina Bromley if you were on the show. She's a pretty good friend of the missus. You could ride right by my house on your way across if you felt like it.
