Brake light

My 1997 R1100rt has a brake light modulater that flashes the brake light a few times when the brakes are applied, then stays steady on until the brakes are released. We just reassembled the bike after changing the clutch. During my test ride, we noticed that the brake light flashes continuously, even when the brakes are not being applied. Also, brake light stays on after the brakes are released.

Did I miss something while putting the bike back together? Sticky switch? Or should I look at the modulator first?

Are both brake switches mechanically operational ie: audibly clicking on and off when listening carefully?
Correct electrical logic on the input to the modulator?
Some modulators have dip switches to select function, possibly disturbed during re-assembly?
Brand of modulator?

Ok, I can hear the rear brake switch clicking consistently, but not the front. The strobe function on the taillight LED conversion is controlled by dipswitches on the unit itself, made by Gizmo Mill. (I actually found the package, with the oem socket and bulb, in a box of stuff I got from the previous owner). I don't think the unit itself is the problem, unless something got dislodged when we lifted the back of the frame. I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to pull the fairings and tank again to get to the ABS.

Update: I've traced the problem to the front lever, which isn't returning all the way. Hopefully it's just an adjustment issue and not a brake problem.

Gizmo Mill....wow that's an old one. I have one of later releases (Brake!) which also still works but two of the LED modules no longer work.

Last update: couple of shots of contact cleaner/lubricant and all is well again.

Just a heads up. Those are sealed microswitches....if contact cleaner makes it in, so will water.
Keep an eye on it and maybe have a spare lined up for the future.

I'm thinking he cleaned & lubed the lever pivot.
