BMW Navigator 4 GPS _ traffic signal ?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a traffic signal on the BMW navigator 4 GPS ?
I see in the manual that there is an external connector i can purchase. but it states "power antenna cable to car plug"? I do not see how i can hook it up to my R1200 GSA. I spoke with a salesman at my local BMW motorcycle dealer who states that all i needed to do was download the Garmin traffic app and it would connect thru the satellite connection. but this did not work ? the model i have is 3 years old. but is updated to the latest software version. i've been checking out the Garmin Zumo 590LM ( which won't fit in the existing mount for the nav 4 ) or the Garmin Zumo 665LM ( which will possibly fit in the existing mount ) either way. it seems crazy that the Nav 4 can't get traffic updates. I must be missing something.
I probably need to speak with the service guy at BMW. LOL, not a salesman.

Thanks for any insight anyone might have.

Did you contact Garmin directly either by phone or email with your unit number? They have always been very helpful and usually respond on email within a day or so. Never tried calling them and so I cannot comment on that approach.

haven't contacted them yet. but the best i can tell is the Nav 4 does not have it. the nav 5 does, dam. haven't really needed it till now. i'm using the bike as a commuter a lot more. ill send customer support an email today. but i think i'm out of luck with this issue. otherwise the Nav 4 is fine.

thanks for the input.
