Bent Wunderlich engine guards

In 30 years of riding I’ve only dropped my bike ( tipped over in driveway) twice. Sadly this stupid incident happened last week when my dog darted across the drive in front of me as I was leaving my house. I grabbed the brakes instinctively and the RT tipped over onto the new Wunderlich engine guards I just installed a couple of weeks ago. The bars took a solid hit and unbeknownst to me were bent in very close to the heads. Today I found out just how much they were bent when I tried to install my new Illium works hwy pegs. The mounting hardware for the pegs will not fit on the crash bars now since they are bent.

Is there a way to bend the bars back into spec?

Yes, but do NOT try to straighten the bars on the bike. Remove the bent bar and use vice, clamps, heat, etc. to straighten. Odds are your mounting hardware; e.g. bolts, are bent too and will need replacing.
