A sad day for the Airhead Community…

I am stunned, he was such a inspiration and a wealth of knowledge and talent. RIP Brook Reams you will be missed and thankfully your legacy will live on through all your instructional videos you have so generously made and shared.

That is sad news to read about. I have watched more than a few times videos Brook made and honestly they saved me hours of frustration as I stumble with repairs or restoration.

Like Snowbum, Oak, the great mechanics and founts of airhead BMW knowledge are fading away. Yet, who would think that so many riders still own the old bikes and those gentlemen were instrumental in the ownership of said bikes. God rest in peace Brook and condolences to the family. St.

I didn’t know him but had great respect for him as I do for all with great talent especially those that enjoy sharing their talent.
Godspeed Brook…

I did not know Brook, but I certainly knew of him and his reputation as a master of all things Airhead. I watched with great interest some of his rebuild projects and always came away impressed. Truly, Brook was a great talent and a tremendous loss to the Airhead community and the MOA as a whole. Thank you Brook for sharing your talent and passing along the knowledge you’ve acquired throughout the years. You’ve made the MOA a better place. You will be missed.

Godspeed Brook

At the 40th anniversary celebration of the 77RS Brook's RS was parked next to mine for a while. I had a chance to chat with him for a bit. We enjoyed looking at each others' bikes and noting the minor differences. I let him know how appreciative that I was for his detailed videos and narrative of his projects. Of course that was 8 years ago - Wow! Time Flies!

I saw this on the website (now called Brook's and Branden's Airhead Garage) -

New Name For “Brook’s Airhead Garage”

Posted on February 2, 2025
I changed the name of my web site and YouTube channel to “Brook’s & Branden’s Airhead Garage”. Branden is my youngest son and now owns 3 airheads I rebuilt: 1975 R75/6, my 1st BMW; first year 1977 R100RS; 1983 R100RS I converted to the RT model.

He is currently working on rebuilding a 1973 R75/5 that was donated to the Motorcycle Relief Project.

I was diagnosed with the neuro-muscular disease ALS this summer after 9 months of testing. I’ve lost strength and can’t ride or do anymore rebuild projects. Branden is using my shop and tools, so I renamed the web site and YouTube channel because he is going to publish and film the work he is doing on the R75/5 project. He has become an airhead enthusiast and is a very good mechanic. His documentation will be high quality

I am optimistic a cure for ALS will arrive this year and I’ll be cured

I had a friend and mentor at work who got ALS - what a crappy way to go, indeed the short end of the stick...

Being the owner of an R80ST, I found out about Brook when he did his series on restoring a one year younger version of my bike.

It was fascinating and informative.

RIP...
