Sorry for the late response, had a big job on the house this weekend to make ready for winter.
As for the TB refurbishment, I used Dan Cata's kit with both bushings and shaft. I did the job even though I couldn't stop the noise by pressing on the shaft pully. It sounded exactly like the YouTube video. The cables are tight and I've checked the sync between both sides and it is as good as it can be.
I think I'll take Dieselyoda's suggestion and use light and magnification later this winter. Noise that loud has to leave a mark. If not, than I'll hire a shrink to help me live with it.
Since reading this forum I've got a new concern, the drive splines not being lub'ed. The previous owner said he never touched 'em. That will be a definite inspection this winter.
