'76 R90/6 - battery recommendation

boxer9valve

New member
New rider - current battery in the bike is a Yuasa 12V that seems a bit small for the battery tray. Looking for a recommendation for new one.

Welcome to the forum! I know of a shop called boxer2valve...you're 9 valves!! More Power!!

I use the OEM battery which is the old style acid fill holes etc...the /7's charging system was designed for those types of batteries.

We had a discussion about batteries...as we often do...and this was back in April. A good place to begin while waiting for other recommendations:

Here's something a bit older:

When I replaced my battery I went for the Odyssey brand, it is smaller than the OEM wet one, it comes with a terminal kit to attach your cables. I purchased my battery direct from the Odyssey site, it was cheaper than buying from Batteries Plus, by about $40.00, free shipping from stocking distributorship.

I know I have posted this in the past but…the Pep Boys lawn tractor AGM battery that I put in my R75/6 in 2013 is still going strong. I think I paid $70 back then. I took the old battery up and just matched the case size as close as I could.
