/7 Seat on a /6

Does anyone have experience putting a /7 seat on a /6 bike (small tank)? I understand there is a gap of abut an inch between the seat and the tank. I am wondering how perceptible that is and how it effects the appearance or other aspects of the bike. Thanks for any input.

My guess is you won't be happy with it. I tried it after getting a good deal on a /7 seat but ending up selling the seat. The gap is pretty noticeable.
