Cadillac uses Iridium plugs from the factory and recommends they be replaced at 100,000 miles. Since our motorcycle engines operate at what is often more than twice the RPM I suspect 36,000 miles might work.Ah, that .pdf shows 20,000 klicks, or just over 12,000 miles. My info came from an on-line service schedule (I forget which place), but iridium plugs really should last longer than that...
It was BMW of western Oregon, but now that I think of it, I'd want to go back through the receipts and see if it itemizes how many spark plugs were put in for the job. It came with the maintenance record from 16K to 58K miles from the dealer, then no records from there to when I got it at 75K miles. It is possible that the plugs could have been changed way back when, but from the condition of them and the frozen fasteners I didn't think so - my opinion FWIW.With that kind of crapatation buildup, I'd be surprised if they were firing at all, and if they were, it would be pretty weak.
Are you willing to disclose which dealership...?
