2009 GSA Turn Signal Rabbit Hole

Dreading this but here goes, I acquired a 2009 GSA last summer, great bike and all the housings on all the turn signals are cracked and the plastic is deteriorated. Yes vinyl tape and JB Weld can make them hold together but…..

It looks like my options are as follows:
A) Get new parts on MAXBMW for BMW Prices and still have the same fragile plastic.
B) Replace with BMW (Break out My Wallet) LED units –
C) Find Aftermarket – which there appears to be plenty of but none that are CANBUS rated for the 09

I would like to use LED Turn signals but know about the dreaded CANBUS errors and I cannot seem to find anyone that will step up to the plate.

Has anyone used a resister on LED Turn signals and if so what was the Ohm and Wattage rating?

buy CanBus bulbs that will be LEDs but don't trigger the CanBus warnings. They're readily available without having to add a resistor.

Was your bike parked outside or something? Iv'e got a garaged RT with 65K miles on it that has no deterioration of the plastic components aside from when I dropped it in a gravely pullout. :bluduh

Just in case....
6 Ω (six ohms) is the value; and you'd need a 50-watt resistor (metal w/ fins, or a black wirewound type) mounted on a heat sink to dissipate the heat. The actual power wasted (yes, wasted) by that resistor is 24 watts at 12.0 volts (a bit more if your regulator supplies 12.5V or more), and you want something that won't burn itself out, so 50 W is the way to go.

SuperbriteLeds has some CANbus-compatible bulbs, but I haven't drilled down to see what would fit yours:

There's also Cycle Gear: https://www.cyclegear.com/motorcycl...alse&is_blemished=false&sort=best_seller&fit=
