2004 RT brake pads

Dave_Faria

Slow & Easy
GM list. I'm approaching the wear limit for the front pads on my RT. The OEM pads for the front are $140. The brakes on the 2004 RT are ABS and integral. Has anyone tried an after market pad??? I'm also curious to know if I replace the front and rear pads with the same material(ceramic rather than sintered for example) will the brakes function as designed??? At $240 for both front and rear pads I need to find an alternative.

Thanks for your thoughts

I bought the aftermarket ones..GASP...from Lonestar in Austin . They are sintered and were $50 I think. This is my second set for the rear brakes.

I just commented on another thread that I replaced the rears last night with 1/8 pad left and 15K miles, the original ones were paper thin at 16K when I bought the bike...the fronts look great still. I couldn't justify the high $$$ BMW set ...YET
