18th Annual Campout, Galena, IL

Just want to give a thanks to the Northern Illinois BMW Motorrad Club for putting on a great "campout" at the Palace Campgrounds, Galena. Had a very good time, met new friends and reacquainted with some old friends. Good riding, interesting town. Cool t-shirts, Great food (Friday homemade chile and Saturday - Brats, Chicken and Corn), coffee and pastries (from local vendors). I picked up a bag of Mean Bean coffee beans for home. Palace campground is a great site, wifi, showers, pool, sun/shade/grass tent sites.

On the way back home, I took the Stagecoach Trail and in the town of Apple River, they had a BBQ Chicken fund raiser in progress so I stopped for a dinner with all the fixings. A real great "find" on the way back.

recently visited Galena on the way up the river road to St Paul. That is a really neat place....I gotta get back there...and stay a while!
