Is a R1150R suitable for gravel and dirt, nothing 'off road', too old for that. Will the cast wheels hold up to mild fire road kind of stuff? I'm not too worried about suspension travel, I go slow. Any one used one for a back road/bad road bike? Ideas-suggestions, thanks

With suitable tires the R works just fine for that.

I just did it on an RT. I will not again even with other tires. It does not have the suspension for it. If I wanted to ride that stuff all the time a GS would be what I'd want.
