1150gs adventure tire recomendation

I just bought my 1st BMW. It is a 2002 1150GS adventure. I am looking for tire recomendations for it. I am in a twisty part of the world(TN,GA and NC mountains area). Thus I want something that will hold well in the twisties. I also expect to do about 20% of my riding on dirt roads and easy trails. I am of course also concered with the milage I will get from them. I was told about Avon Distanzas. Any comments from users of these tires or other suggestions are appreciated. Please remember where I said I would be riding. Interstates will be a small part of my riding.

Also any other useful info for a new Adventure owner is appreciated. Thanks

Eric,
what kind of riding did you do with the Avons? Did they perform well off road compared to the other tires? How did they do in the twisties? Any specifics would be helpful.

For the GS tire pickn is not real hard.not may to choose from and most are very good

Tourance : Awesome street, ok dirt, IÔÇÖve run 3 pair, great tire

TKC 80: Awesome dirt, good street ÔÇ£for a knobÔÇØ(just not in rain) IÔÇÖve run 2 pair, great tire.

Anakee, new kid on the block but it looks like reviews place in the same category as the Tourance

Only one for sure, donÔÇÖt go near the T-66!

Them rubber things don't last too long, so don't sweat the selection and have fun try'n them all.
