That probably depends on what model of hitch he has found. I had a hitch for my R1150RT that mounted to the same bolt that the torsion bar fastened to and if memory serves me correctly that is part of the transmission. The transmissions on the two bikes are different.
Paul. If the hitch in question is a Bushtec hitch then go to the Bushtec website and cross reference the bike models , that should let you know. That’s if it’s a Bushtec hitch of course
I have a Bushtec hitch from my R1150RT that I would part with if your friend is still looking. I do not have the wirning adapter but they are pretty universal or can be bought from Bushtec. I don't need the hitch any long as I went to a sidecar rig and made a hitch to go between the sidecar and bike. I also went to LED lighting on the trailer and so just wire directly into the bikes wiring.
