06 R1200GS intermittent ABS failure

My 06 GS runs great overall, but I have had 2 incidents in the last year when the ABS warning light continued flashing after riding off (maybe 200 yards) and I found myself with only reserve braking power. The first time it happened I stopped the bike, turned the engine off and back on and then rolled a short distance and the light went off and I had full braking power.

No recurrences of the problem until this weekend when i happened again. This time the light flashed the entire way back to my campsite (maybe 10 miles). The next morning it was flashing again after a 50 yard ride, but after warming the bike up in the sun, the brakes were back to normal.

The only common thread to both cases is that the bike was soaking wet when I rode off. Normally my bike is stored in my garage and I've never had this issue riding from home. Not sure if this is a coincidence or if there might be a sensor or other electrical connection that might be something to look into. Anyone ideas would be appreciated. (The bike is running great this morning after a 180 mile ride home yesterday without incident. )

Thanks!
