Saddle bag locking tab not operable, only protudes a small amount and grab handle will not unfold all the way. Removed lid, removes screws and seperated case. Locking tab linkage and flat operating strap were flapping around. No luck in finding a schematic to see what the assembly should look like, any advice, photos would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!
Have a look at the “similar threads” pane at the bottom of the page. Chances are you will find some information.

Mike pointed you to some of the most helpful pictures I've seen anywhere. I also found it helpful to (carefully) take apart the other bag to see how it all works. Sketch a full size diagram of the bag on cardboard and poke the screws through in the corresponding spot - there are several types and sizes. Clean out all the old dirt and grease while you are in there. It's amazing how little effort it takes to operate the latches with fresh lube.

After you pointed me to them first years ago!

Could be, I've posted the link several times in different places. :thumb

That reminds me, I wanted to take one of my panniers apart this winter. Another plastic loop holding the internal straps broke last summer, so I need to bolt in a replacement.
