Side Stand Switch Removal

So I apologize for continuing to ask simple questions. But... I'm trying to remove the sidestand switch from my 2000 R1100RS. I have the Clymer manual and it says remove the screw from switch and then remove the entire thing from the bike. I have the replacement and the switch doesn't seem to have a screw, but a post. I can't figure out for the life of me how to remove the current switch from beside the kickstand. I don't want to break anything else trying to get this off. Any help is appreciated.

If anyone runs in to the problem of installing a new switch on an R1100, here it is. If there's an easier way, please feel free to share (I won't be offended to know I did way more work than I should have...)

1. Remove the sidestand.
2. Pull the switch toward you (Clymer says to unscrew it - not correct) and then remove. The switch has a post that fits in a small hole on the left mounting bracket.
3. When installing the new switch, you have to put the wire through the left mountaing bracket and then snake it through back to the connector by the seat. BUT...
4. The problem I ran in to is that with the center stand attached, the opening was about 2mm too small to put the connector through. I decided to take the entire center stand off, freeing up the left mounting bracket, which then allowed me to snake the connector through.
5. When taking the center stand off, be sure to remove the hex bolts on both sides first that are in the larger bolts that go through the center stand (I think they were 5mm hex).

The rest is pretty straight forward. I'm sure there's an easier way (Clymer seems to think so) by I couldn't make it work without taking the entire stand off to give me more room to get the wire through the left mounting bracket.
