Front Flat - Replace tire?

Road 3 with less than 1000 miles, small hole about an inch from centerline. I plugged it so I could get to work and back for two days. Should I just replace the tire or is getting a patch on the inside of the tire safe enough?

I would use a mushroom plug (combination patch/plug). This seals like a patch from the inside and also plugs the puncture to prevent the penetration of any moisture or anything else between the plies via the puncture. Belt and suspenders if you will.

I had a puncture on a front tire on my way back from Alaska last year and, for a bunch of miles, there was no opportunity to replace the tire. I've had/used several patch kits before settling on a Neeley Repair Kit, https://www.nealeytirerepairkit.com/repair-kits. When I got to a dealership in Montana, I got them to change the oil. By that time, I had almost 2000 miles on the plugged tire and decided to ride home on it. Neeley makes a great product. (I'm not affiliated with them.)

I've had several tires repaired with rope plugs and last until they were worn out without issue.
