2017 RT Windsheild powering down

I've just noticed that my windshield does not return to the low position when I turn the key off. That's no problem but I wonder what has happened and should I be concerned? 44,000 miles on it.

Can you manually lower it with the switch?

Was it in for service at a BMW dealer recently?

I had my RT in for the 6k service and it stopped raising/lowering automatically. I was advised on another forum that the service computer hook up for sorftware updates, etc, may have messed with the limits. It can be reset with a GS-911 (which I did not have one modern enough for 1250 RT) or a short visit with the shop, but after a few days of commuting back and forth to work, the wind screen returned to its normal operation.. I am guessing 75-100 miles may have elapsed for that time frame. Not sure what was more effective, the time or distance. I did cycle it with the button a few times before shutting down one of those days, but did that early in the process so I do not think that fixed it.

I can manually raise and lower it. I was just thinking I might have the start of a problem. No it hasn't been to a dealer.

My 2018 did the same thing. When I took it in for a service they fixed it under warranty. I think it is something pretty simple.

Well I'm off warranty and its 100 miles to the dealer so I'm not going to worry about it.
Thanks for the replys.

I had a 2008 RT. The windshield did not have an automatic lowering function. I bought a 2015. It had the function of lowering upon power down. I liked it the other way. I guess one person's bug is another person's "feature."

I agree, I liked that on my 2005 the windshield stayed put all the time unless I pushed the button to move it.
