I didn't see a trace of lower pushrod tubes...two large valves?
... or a Subaru
They believe there’s a market for it

I remember the R1200C was supposed to re-write the Cruiser rulebook.
Yeah, not so much.
Why pushrods? Because a 1800cc twin would explode if it revved fast?
"Timo Resch, BMW Motorrad’s VP of Sales and Marketing, says we’ll see more of a “direction in a couple of weeks,” which another exec let slide means the Villa d’ Este Bike Show, on the shores of Lake Como, schedjed this year for May 24-26 (and conveniently enough, sponsored by BMW). Even crazier, Timo says there will be a “serial bike” by 2020, which I believe is German for a production model. Say, that’s only nine months from now."

4 valves doesn't need 4 pushrods. Check out a hexhead or oilhead.
But they do have four pushrods...although stubby compared to the Airheads
No. The intake and exhaust have one pushrod each. The rockers are Y shaped to share one pushrod.
I am on cold medication..so a bit foggy...however
I am fairly certain there are four, each adjuster sits at end of pushrods. when you adjust valves, you are changing clearance between the pushrods and the adjusters.

The picture only shows one for clarity, but quantity is 4
BMW is making their car engines smaller too, at least to the extent that the last 2 digits of the model imply a larger engine than is actually installed. The 530 is not a 3.0 liter engine like you'd think, it's a turbo 2.0 inline four. 540 is a turbo 3.0 inline six, 550 is a turbo 4.4 V-8The new 2020 Subaru will be a smaller turbo charged engine. They will do away with both the 3.6l and the 2.5l for a smaller engine. Meanwhile BMW seems determined to make the engines larger for an aging population of buyers.

I'd rather see a 4 or 6 cylinder water cooled boxer.
