2005 K1200S Charcoal canister

Is it necessary to remove the charcoal canister on my bike ? Any issues ? I see a lot of videos on removing them on the R bikes . Pro's con's
 
It's not visible like it is on the Oilheads and doesn't cause exactly the same issues..unless your bike takes a long nap or two and it could maybe get contaminated , but never heard of one. Never considered removing them on Our S's.
Wouldn't spend a lot of thought on it and go for a ride:wave
