'72 R75/5 seat lock disassembly

I bought a new subframe for my /5 because we had no luck welding in the replacement pins. This one came with an intact, but corroded seat lock. There are two very small circlips holding the main pin in place. My pliers won't fit in it. Can't get it to move with a screw driver. Has anyone ever disassembled one? Is my best bet to just try to clean it a best I can while assembled?

Just remove the entire latch mechanism and clean/lube it.

I did that. I'm trying to figure out how to disassemble it further so I can remove the corrosion from the spring, the plunger, etc.

Is it the plunger shown here? I can't really help with further disassembly...can you take some pictures, although I'll admit they'll have to be close ups. Is it possible to just flood the plunger with brake clean or carb clean, flush out, and then apply some lubricant like Tri-flow?

I would flood it with a PBlaster or similar penetrating oil. Then after a day or two would clean it with compressed air and brake cleaner. And then re-lubricate.

The two circlips secure the pivot pin. Clean it as best as you can, or go buy a set of circlip pliers.
