Forum name is bikertucker. Have ridden and wrenched on various brands of motorcycles over the past 45 years. Bought my first BMW about two weeks ago. It's a 1975 R90/6. It is ridable, and so far very impressed with it for being 43 years old. Biggest problem is the vertical blinker control. Seems I get confused on which way is up/down or is that left /right. Joined because after my first ten mile plus ride noticed what seems to be a problem. but will post that in the airheads section. Looking forward to my old airhead adventure.

Welcome to the forum! You should be able to get into this new ride fairly easily given your background. Enjoy!

The mind easily assimilates this concept. Think about as if you are at a stop light waiting to turn. To steer left, you must push the handlebar left, and your turn signal switch hand goes forward and upward some what, so signal switch for left is up.
