Granada red 2017 R1200RT

IMHO, the photo below shows the most beautiful BMW 2017 R1200RT motorcycle there is.

I had it painted Granada red to match the color of the 1967 R60/2 in the foreground. BMW last used this color 44 years ago.

Why doesn't BMW offer such a lovely red RT like this? I have no idea. Only the geniuses in Munich know.

Mars Red for 2018

Hi Jeff:

As you prob know by now, they did offer the Mars Red (2016 colour I think, on the K1600) for the RT in 2018. I waited and ordered it in July and got it mid-October. Lovin' it:

Day I picked it up.

Are you going to paint the nose to match the red-orange color? Paint the nose and your bike will look a lot better.

I completely agree. It looks so much better with the upper fairing painted to match. I think I'd do the same thing if I got one like that.

Very nice Scott! That is one of the nicest RT colors so far. The on I really liked was the crystal blue but they only made it in 2014. But your new Mars Red RT looks sweet I am in the minority here and like the gray nose which also seems more durable than the painted surface.

Good luck and many happy miles.

How about Ford Granada red?

... was wondering how BMW came up with the name "Granada" for that color red. But alas BMW granada red predates the Ford!

Ok, its Sunday morning for me and needing my coffer for sure.

I have been riding BMW shaft-drive boxer motorcycles without a break for fifty years -- from 1967 to 2017. My first BMW in 1967 was a black R60/2 and through the years they have varied in colors. Thus, my 1967 and 2017 BMWs in the photo below represent a kind of visual alpha and omega my personal 50-year motorcycle riding history.
