LED Headlight Replacement

Has anyone replaced their incandescent headlight bulbs with the newer LED style lights? If so, what wattage, temperature, cooling method etc. I'm considering this for my '07 K12GT.

Led

Nope, but I saw one on Amazon and considered it. The xenon bulb currently is now 7 years and 21k miles old and still works great. Eventually it will burn out at the most inconvenient time.

LED headlight

For the price I've considered LED but so far sticking with Sylvania ZXE bubs. Slightly "whiter" and easily replaceable. I like the "easily replaceable" aspect in case of failure on a trip. That's also why I'm not an HID conversion fan. At least the K1300S has a great headlight, unlike the oil lantern used on the K1200RS. :rofl

LED Headlamps

I put Cyclops Adventures LED's on both my 2007 and 2011 GT. Takes three bulbs, plus I changed out the running/parking lights with LEDS as well. Love them. https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/. No issues, no burn outs, no overheatings. Perfect. You can do it with headlight assembly installed but its tricky. I bought four and keep one as spare for long trips.

Found it easier to take out head light assembly to do it securely. SO if you go this route now would be time to run any wires, change your horn or make modifications.

Cheers,

Miles
