If the bike runs well then there are plenty of good options for a windscreen. The system cases can be mounted if they didn't already come with the R bike. In my opinion that would be more cost effective than trying to convert the bike to an RT.

By the time you bought bodywork and bracketry to mount it, the cost would be exorbitant. The Scout and some good used BMW bags would make the 1150R a really nice ride.
