MotoGP - Dylan Gray on a Flying Lap at Qatar

It's always amazing to get the real-time feedback on what it takes to run a lap at near race levels on the MotoGP circuit. Lately, the pit reporter Dylan Gray has been giving an on-bike commentary as he takes a spin around the track. Listen to how hard he's working to muscle the bike around. Some of it may be having to talk, but I'm amazed at what it would take to do this for 20 or so laps!

Oh, and by the way...he's on an S1000RR!

He even has said that he is not riding at a pace that is particularly close to the MotoGP guys. Watched him this morning in Italy. Again you could tell he was pressed to talk.

Even hands free, it's pretty tough to carry on a telephone conversation driving a car in normal conditions.

Despite lots of misuse of the term, fact remains human brain cannot multitask.

Geez, I was hoping we could marvel at how taxing riding a motorcycle, even if only at 9/10ths, could be.

When the Fox bought the Speed channel, MotoGP suffered. They had poor camera action, no podium, no "pre game show," etc. But Fox has really stepped up the game now, with information on tires, engines, tracks, and now Dylan riding a lap of the track. Fox has really done well with GP, especially in a US market that doesn't really follow the sport. Even here on a motorcycle forum, there is little following.

And dang, Lorenzo has suddenly found his groove!
