About 6 a.m. on Sunday a local fellow showed up at the entrance to the Magic Island camping area with what looked like the bundled contents of a GS luggage rack - I didn't look that closely, but if memory served, it could have included a tent and sleeping bag and some other stuff on what looked like a flat metal plate, all bungied together.
He told the police officer on overnight security duty that he's found it in the middle of the street a few blocks away, probably minutes after it fell off of someone's homeward-bound bike.
After some discussion, the police officer suggested he take it down to police HQ and give it to someone in the Records Division.
So, if you lost something like this, check with Charleston P.D.
