Independent Mechanics / Portland Oregon

I have owned my 04 RT since new and have always had the service done at the local dealership. Partially due to the convenience of the dealership location. Since last summer, the dealership closed.

With conflicting tasks, bike maintenance seems to be the thing that I personally do not have time for.

So I am now on the search for a good reliable independent Mechanic or two in the local Vancouver, WA / Portland, Or area on the NE side.

I highly recommend Daric Cheshire at Cheshire Motorsports:

I just had my 2002 RT in for 77,000 mile preventive maintenance, including front tire & bearings, engine rear main seal, entire new clutch, spline lube, tranny seals, final drive seals & bearings. Excellent work and attention to detail and what I wanted. No oil leaks now and shifts much smoother. Should be good for another 40,000 miles until next spline lube.

Labor rate is lower than typical BMW shop rate.

I highly recommend Steve's Bavarian Motorcycle Service at 420 SW 7th Street, Dundee, OR, just south of Portland. Steve's MOA # 1393 is a low one so you can see he has been into beemers for some time. Ph#: 503-538-8120

Daric Cheshire has kept my '99 R1100RT w/EZS Sidecar running fabulously since he first arrived here. Very meticulous, very good, and very honest. I won't go anywhere else.

Karl :)
