RS Fairing Measurements

Living the Legend
Folks, I have a 1983, R100RS, the fairing seems a little too close to the steering/tach/speedo. Can anyone tell me the proper measurement specifications and the best way to adjust? Thanks

I can send you a pic of mine, which is correct.

However, it's pretty unlikely the fairing bracket is bent, as that takes a big hit that would have broken the fairing in all liklihood.

Do you have an extra thick, i.e. aftermarket top triple clamp?

Bar risers?

Note also that the speedo bracket for the RS is unique, i.e. not the same as any other Airhead. It mounts on bottom side of the triple clamp using antivibration rubbers, of course.

There is no "adjustment" other than installation of correct, undamaged parts. Of course be sure the fairing bracket is properly bolted to the steering tube.

What if the fairing was replaced after a big hit? That would be out of alignment if not done properly.

Actually, the bike was involved in a roll over (luckly not with me on it) and the fairing was pretty much flattened. Both the fairing and the bracket were replaced, the bracket though, was bought off E-bay so who know what its history is.
