I just saw this over on bmwlt.com and hadn't noticed it shared here yet.

On Monday (11/28/11) A&S Cycles will be selling the BMW Advanced Battery Tender for $34.50! It's almost like a BOGO deal!

Take a looky here.

Notice the description of the charger:

Battery Charger - BMW Advanced Battery Charger - Gel/Lead Acid

BMW's Advanced Battery Charger is the world's most advanced microprocessor-controlled charger. Safe, versatile, and durable, it charges and maintains FLA, GEL and AGM batteries. Safely charges pre-2004 models through acc. socket. 10 year limited warranty.

I have one of those chargers. Got it with my R1150RT which used a gel battery. It seems to work well.

I have 2 of them. Using one on lead acid and one on gel. One of them was replaced under warranty after 4 1/2 years for $8 shipping and handling. $20 and a 5 year warranty. How can you go wrong?

I like the weatherproof feature of the Ctek vs. some model of Battery Tenders-plus read all the threads from globalrider about charger techs...
I'm thinking of the model 800 tender too as waterproof as I cover my bike in driveway much of year
