What tanks fit the R80ST?

I will be refreshing a well-traveled ST for some back-road and off-pavement work, and find that I want a little more range. What 6-gallon tanks will fit it? Anything off a single-shock bike, or do I need to narrow my search?

R80ST tank (of course)
R80G/S tank
R65 tank

The only "big" tank that will go on without serious modification that I know of is the 8.3 gallon tank off the R80G/S Paris Dakar model.

Enjoy your project, its fun to be young.

I seem to remember that it was. I kinda forget. It has been a while since the days that I lived and breathed airheads, so I forget some of the details there, too.

Which tank for an ST

You want to find an early model R100GS tank. Gives you a little over 6 gallons, 2 petcocks, fits perfectly, and you can use either the stock ST seat or the solo G/S seat with no mods.

I've done 17 frame up restorations of G/S or STs. Doing 2 more right now. Other mods you can do which may help would be adding G/S handlebars for a more upright position but you may also need to switch out the choke and throttle cables. Sometimes you can get away with just the handlebar.
