Garmin CNNA NT 2023.2 Map(s) available

Garmin City Navigator North America NT 2023.2 is now available.

The North American map now exceeds the FAT32 4Gb file size limit, so it will install on a Navigator or Zumo as two files. One covers the U.S., the other covers Canada and Mexico.

Installed on a PC or Mac, the map is a single file since their file systems do not have the 4Gb limit. No special actions are needed on the user's part but the result can be confusing when selecting a map in Basecamp since three identically named options are presented. Just select any of them and then choose to use the faster (computer installed) option when asked.

Interesting... this must be why the CN Europe is in two files.

I could be wrong about this, but it looks like the mapset on the two files overlap each other at the edge. All I know is that I used Basecamp to build a route that crossed the two maps and when navigating it, my ZumoXT pooped the bed. In the middle of Milan rush hour traffic. :mad

Thanks for the info!

Yes, the European maps apparently have been in two files for several years. A user at https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk explained why I was seeing multiple maps. Makes me wonder why Garmin did not include exFAT support when designing the XT if they had already reached the FAT32 limit.
