What flicks are you watching?

I enjoyed "Inglorious Basterds". If you like Tarantino flicks, you'll like it, but probably already saw it. The cinematography and acting was superb; I wish it were not only what it is (fictional), but a second "twin" movie with the same people but more factual--like Valkyrie. That SS Colonel is a fantastic actor.

Hey all; Let's see... Amazing Grace was a great movie with a very inspiring message, Loved it. lately I have been watching things like Gettysburg and the Rough riders, as well as Master and Commander.Darn near ANYTHING with Tom Selleck in it. (Last stand at Sabre river, etc) Vaya con Dios, Dutch

What about Hobbesism?

Benjamin Button was an interesting story. Bit of humor too...

"Did I ever tell you I was hit by lightening seven times..?"

Good Movie.

I thought Ben Button was interesting as well.

By Hobbesism, do you mean this guy? Not sure he made a movie :)

Watched it last night, fun flick. Colonel did nail the part.
I do wish it showcased the basterds exploits a bit more.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed Inglorious Basterds.

Tarrantino has only gotten better as a director and has an incredible ear for nuance in dialogue. Austrian actor Christoph Waltz will certainly win awards for his role in the film.

totally his trademark... i've enjoyed all his flicks. how many times can one watch pulp fiction?

LAst one watched was the STAND, by Stephen King.. Old one, but goodie

District 9
Star trek
Avatar 3D

LeMans (McQueen and endurance road racing - it doesn't get any better) was on Saturday! :thumb

Then, late Sunday, I caught the beginning of The Hospital with Diana Rigg (when she was hot) and George C. Scott. It's been years since I saw it last.

Sherlock Holmes

Saw Sherlock Holmes at a local theatre a couple of days ago. Frankly, I didn't much care for it. Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind.

The writers tried to add some new dimensions to Holmes and Watson. In my mind, they just diluted the characters who made the Conan Doyle series so popular. :nono

Just one man's view.

If you like Holmes you might want to look for the BBC series starring the late Jeremy Brett, unsure however if it is available on current media. That, in my mind is the definitive Holmes portrayal with all due respect to Basil, et. al.

The Jeremy Brett Holmes is on PBS (Thursday nights in my area), and is probably the most faithful adaptaion of Conan Doyle's work.

The Man who would be King is a d@mn good flick, set in Afghanistan, where Watson was wounded. Coincidental connection? Makes me a bit sentimental for the place.
