If we are going by music that I listen to the most, it would be when I am putting my daughter to sleep.
Pretty much anything by the Wiggles or Laurie Berkner (they put me to sleep too).

If we are going by music I like, that would be much tougher.

1. U2 - The Joshua Tree
2. Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
3. Grateful Dead - Without A Net
4. Don Henley - The End of the Innocence
5. String Cheese Incident - On the Road - Horning's Hide-Out 2007

bikes & jazz????!!! Oh, no!!!

Where do yu find this stuff?

:brow

Some of them I found at "regular" music chains like Virgin or whatever. Others I found at Chicago's Jazz Record Mart (Wabash and Illinois don't know if they ship) ...So I called them, and yes, they do. 312 222 1467. The verve compilation I got from a student while I was in L.A. He worked for Thievery. The Jr Brown records I found online, maybe Amazon, but I think I actually ordered direct from the guy. He's a one-man operation. BTW he mixes a little jimi w his TX swing. Send me a p.m. and I'll burn whatever you're interested in that proves tuff to find. Happy to do it, tho' it might be a couple days before I get around to it. I'm up to my ass for two more weeks, then free as a breeze.

Top 5

As has been stated very hard to define a top 5...current top 5

John Prine --- Fair & Square
NY Philharmonic --- Opera without Words

Willie Nelson --- 16 Biggest Hits
Original Sound Track --- The Music Man

To expand the theme...do a google for Lucas Davenport's playlist. For those who don't read John Sandford, Lucas is his Twin Cities detective, and in Broken Prey this list was compliled.

Pickin on Zepplin - great CD - there's more Picking CD's out there...Pickin on the Dead is another favorite.

Don't overlook "Hayseed Dixie", the bluegrass AC/DC cover band.

5, hm?

Like everyone said, this changes way too much.

By recent play counts in iTunes:

Tafelmusik/Jeanne Lamon: "Henry Purcell: Ayres for the Theater"
Stan Getz: "Sweet Rain"
Christopher Parkening with David Brandon (guitars): "Virtuoso Duets"

All you need to know. Stayed on the charts for a record 740 weeks.

How is the old Sons of the Bunkhouse Band doing these days? Saw them several years ago in Austin and have one of their t shirts with the neon armadillo on it.

When I left John T. Floore's Country Store last Friday night, just after midnight, they had just finished "The Chili Song" and were still going strong. They play every couple of months in one of the dance halls around San Antonio.....my wife's favorite band, and Gary P has got to be one of the friendliest, most personable performers on the planet. Still has Herbert Steiner on the steel guitar.....great show!

In no particular order...

Michael Hedges: Strings of Steel
Leo Kottke: 6 and 12 String Guitar
Van Halen: Van Halen
DiMeola, McLaughlin, and DeLucia: Friday Night in San Francisco
Cowboy Junkies: The Trinity Sessions
Stevie Ray Vaughan: Oct 3, 1954 - Aug 27, 1990
Any Jethro Tull or Pink Floyd album.

Ok, a couple more than 5

I tend to lean toward the harder stuff. Also, I'm likely younger than most:nyah .

1) Aenima-Tool
2) Dirt- Alice in Chains
3) Eliminator/Mississippi Mud-ZZ Top
4) Big Wheels- Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies
5) Kettle Whistle-Jane's Addiction

These are great for riding the twisties and taking in the views:

1) Sap- Alice in Chains
2) Live at the Philmore-Allman Brothers
3) Achtung Baby-U2
4) Siren-Heather Nova
5) The Godfather- Soundtrack

Good listening!
