2024 National Rally: REDMOND Oregon

Where are they posting the drawing winners? I'm ready to schedule delivery of my new bike.. :evil
I thought they would announce the Thursday and Friday winners on the MOA website.
I looked and didn't find anything.
We didn't get a call so we didn't win Thu or Fri :)

Debbie J,

We're kicking off Rally week in Redmond and you can be part of the action. The Rally opens this Thursday and each night, we will give away a new BMW M-series motorcycle - an M 1000 R on Thursday, an M 1000 XR on Friday and an M 1000 RR on Saturday. That is over $90,000 in prizes in just three days! It is all part of the Beemer Bonanza Sweepstakes and you can win!

Yeah, I kept refreshing during the drawing. Well, I guess there's one bike left so there's still a chance..

“There’s an app for that”
Search the Apple App Store or Google Play for “BMWMOA and it should pop up.
There’s very little paper in the rally sack this year.

Best,
DeVern
Off topic a bit -- but congratulations to DeVern and his big prize win. Not a new bike or toy hauler, but still a nice haul!

The 38th MOA Rally in Redmond was July 15-18, 2010 and the weather was lovely. Of course you will probably have to wait another 14 years to have this discussion.

BTW, why does it say I am a new member? Been a member 22 years officially or 32 years except for a 3 month gap.

Looks like you are “new” to the forum…….Welcome!
It’s just the forum software doing it’s thang.

Thank you! It’s a prize that starts one thinking about maybe it’s time to upgrade one of my rides… 😁

Best,
DeVern

VT in 06 was nearly 10k for folks wondering if that attendance was high or low. I think we're having lower attendance and more in the 5 or 6K range these days.

There will always be higher attendance at rallies near the east coast due to the fact that easterners who ride where a 7-11 or other Stop & Rob is almost always within a few blocks quiver in fear or at least high anxiety riding across the vast expanse of the empty plains where it might be 50 or 80 miles to the nearest gas pump or bottle of Fiji Water. That plus the fact that there are more members east of the Mississippi than to its west.

Lots of westerners also don't like riding across the plains - it isn't exactly San Francisco or Portland you know. I recall being told by a rider from California that he would never, ever, ride a motorcycle east of I-25 in Colorado. "Never, not ever, ever never". So thus we have three clusters of riders: east won't go west; west won't go east; and, some who don't even care! YMMV but not by much.

I did some quick math, using about the last 30 rallies since 1993...I didn't count the Canada one though. I made a decision as to rallies that were either east or west of the Mississippi. However, there were rallies in Missouri, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin...they could almost be counted either/or. But I used the river as the dividing line regardless. So, 14 rallies east of the Mississippi, and 16 west of the river. I got average attendances -- East - about 6900; West - about 5300. The maximum for East was 9200 (Vermont in 2006) and for West was about 6700 (Oregon in 2001).

I think I've been across the plains enough times that the thrill of crossing it on a motorcycle is kinda gone. That said, we are rolling out to head to Ohio, but we'll be going in the Mileage Disposal Unit, Tina's car, an Audi SQ5.

Mostly, I try to avoid flat straight roads as much as possible. :D
