Saddlebag Dividers / Net

I have never really liked side-opening saddlebags, especially after having some adv bikes and top-loading bags...

So, I did this:

Cut a template out of cardboard

,then the final solution from the sides of an old dog crate, I use gorilla tape on the inside to secure it against the saddlebags

Then, added some plastic hooks and canopy bungees from walmart, need 2 part epoxy for them to stick to the plastic.

I have since found a net off amazon and I have 2 layers of bungees - a smaller one under the yellow bag for gloves and the net for stuff like rain gear.

Just like a Goldwing or ST1300. My material of choice has been foam veneer board but yours will be stronger and long lasting, very tidy. I've epoxied footman's loops in Givi cases for the netting and I have to say that hasn't worked long term for me. The bag might flex or something and it pops the loops loose here and there. I roughed up the smooth surfaces and re-glued them and that seems to help. I've never had top loaders but doing these partitions and netting with side loading has worked well for me. To organize things further I use stuff sacks for like items and I like that the open case makes a "shelf" that I can use to sort through stuff poured out of a stuff sack.

I found this divider left over from my 2002 RT that I sold.
The contour on the front fit my side case but the back needed cut due it being a little long.
So rather than throwing it away I cut the length, milled some slots and solved the problem of stuff falling into the lid every time I opened the case.
