Reynolds rack #230 on my 1985 r80rt not cooperating

Hello,
With a lot of research I was able to aquire the correct Reynolds rack #230 for my 85 r80rt. I have the original tube bag racks. They are not the Z racks for later bikes. I am looking for anyone who may have pictures or install instructions. There is a bracket welded to the frame above the tail light where the rack and bag mounts are joined, however they aren't aligning. Not sure if filing metal off the bag mounts and rack is the answer but can't come up with any other solution. This Reynolds is specific for my model and never read anywhere that different bag racks would be required. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Resources for Reynolds rack install is limited to snowbums sight and Dwayne Aushermans pages but no instructions that I can locate. Thank you in advance.

I reread some of the information I've been thru and discovered on snowbums site it states the Reynolds bag mounts is # 632. Guessing these are like hens teeth. Modifying my existing mounts may be the only option.
Any suggestions on directions is appreciated.

Nla

Reynolds has been out of business for so long yeah, some stuff is becoming like hen's teeth to find. It is a shame because they did make some fine stuff.

Aside from finding the correct fit rack, you could find a Fabricator/welder to perhaps cut, fit and modify your rack to fit, then either paint/powder coat or chrome it? St.

Could you post a picture of your rack? I might have some of the components.

Reynolds rack project completed

I just sent you a private message. Please let me know if you received it. Thank you, John0
Apologize for the late final conclusion regarding this thread. I needed Reynolds bag mounts to complete this project. Reynolds made specific bag mounts in combination to be able to use with their over engineered rear rack. If you've never used one they are highly recommended. Their bag mounts are a bit more stronger than the BMW OEM bag mounts for the 85 r80rt.
