Glad you're up and running.
Garmin can be difficult to work with but if you can prove you bought it (copy of receipt, etc.) and it hasn't been reported stolen they will let you register it... but you've got to bug them, even demand to speak to a supervisor as I did... my R1200RT came with the original GPS and I went through the same thing... even more complicated with a 3rd hand bike!)
