R1100 RS fork seal question

Somewhat embarrassed here...changing a leaky fork seal on my R1100 RS, popped the bad seal out, but did not note the orientation.

The new seal (Pictured) Has numbers on one side, first picture.

The other side, no numbers or writing and the inner diameter has a lip. Pic two.

Question, which side goes down, and which side gets tapped in?

Just want to say thanks to Michael and Kurt for steering me right, regarding the fork seal orientation. Popped the new seal in last in yesterday, and also took care of fixing some fairing wellnuts that came loose. Thanks JB Weld.

Took it out for 150 mile backroad loop, and all is well.
Cheers.

John
