I currently have a high mileage 2014 R1200GS with low suspension. I'm thinking of upgrading to a low mileage later model and have located a very nice 2017. Unfortunately, it has the standard height suspension, and I know from experience that I want the lower seat height the low suspension provides. Some of the options are lowering springs which allow the bike to sit lower when the rider is sitting on it, new lower shocks, or possibly having the stock shocks lowered. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? I've read mixed reviews of lowering springs and new shocks can be expensive.
