New MOA Member - BMW's since 2000

I'm a new MOA member and figured it was good to have the roadside assistance option from BMW.
Happy to join the forum and mingle with other motorcycle enthusiasts. When I'm out riding the BMW crew always seems the friendliest and skilled on their bikes so I'm happy to be part of your gang.

This past weekend I piled on many miles in 4 days of 7+ hours/day and found some great roads between Santa Cruz, CA, Lee Vining and Las Vegas. I barely saw an Interstate which was great.
Sure, I ran into some hail through the Eldorado National Forest and 50+mph winds and sandstorms in Death Valley, but I was on a bike and stayed safe so it was awesome...

Here's a little video of the rain and hail through Eldorado Forest:

Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the club and the forum!!

Great video - I had a few friends out riding in the same area and weather - glad everyone made it safely.

What did you use to shoot that with? I really like the 360 with the speed/temp/elevation data along with a route display. Well done

You should come join us in Lebanon, TN June 13-16 for the largest gathering of BMW enthusiast in the US

The BMW event/rally is a bit too short notice for me to make it happen. I've driven cross country 4 times now so it's definitely time to make it happen on the moto but not in a couple weeks unfortunately.

For the video I used a Garmin Virb 360 - I really dig it. You can control it from the navigator vi. I took lots of footage from the four day adventure. Captured some Death Valley sandstorms as well. :)
The editing software makes it all super easy so I can't take much credit. It even makes adding titles/text a breeze.

Next Year

Well, start making plans for next year - we'll be in Great Falls, MT, June 25-28, 2020

Thanks for the info on the Garmin - I'll take a look at it
