Record October sales for BMW, MINI and Motorrad.

Whitby, Ontario. BMW Group Canada reported today an October sales record of 2,098 BMW and MINI vehicles, an increase of 2.3% over October 2006. Year-to-date, BMW Group Canada sales are up 17.4% compared to the same period last year, which translates to a new year-to-date record of 23,096 units sold.
BMW Brand: BMW brand achieves best ever October sales.
The BMW brand also set an October sales record with 1,783 units sold, an increase of 1.0% over October 2006. The BMW 3 Series Cabriolet, with BMWÔÇÖs first retractable hard top roof, led the way with the largest sales increase in October of 468.8%.
Sales of the X5 Sports Activity Vehicle were strong with an increase of 55.9% over October 2006. BMW 5 Series sedan sales increased 50.6% compared to October 2006.
The BMW brand set a year-to-date record of 19,944 units sold, an increase of 18.5% over the same period last year.
ÔÇ£The BMW sales incentive program that we implemented in October is keeping customers buying at their local BMW retailer,ÔÇØ said Lindsay Duffield, President and CEO, BMW Group Canada. ÔÇ£Our record sales results in October demonstrate the strong value proposition in Canada.ÔÇØ
BMW Motorrad Canada sales were up 47.1% in October compared to October 2006. BMW Motorrad Canada set an October sales record with 75 motorcycles sold. Year-to-date, BMW Motorrad has increased sales by 29.2% to 1,475 units compared to the same period last year with.
BMW Certified Pre-Owned sales for October were 692 units, down slightly by 6.7%. Total pre-owned sales for October were 849, a decrease of 9.0% compared to October 2006. Year-to-date, BMW Certified Pre-Owned sales are up 15.0% compared to the same period last year which translates to 5,518 units sold. In total, BMW Pre-Owned year-to-date sales are up 7.4% to 7,372 units sold.
MINI Brand: Best ever October sales for MINI, sales up 10.5%.
MINI sales increased 10.5% in October to set an October record of 315 MINIs. Year to date, MINI sales have increased 10.7% compared to the same period last year, translating to 3,152 units sold.
MINI NEXT certified pre-owned vehicle sales were up 50.0% to 27 units in October compared to October 2006. Total MINI pre-owned sales for October were 40 units, an increase of 5.3% from October 2006. Year-to-date MINI NEXT sales have increased 4.0% to 309 units. Total MINI pre-owned vehicle sales were 502 Year-to-date, a decrease of 9.4% compared to the same period last year.

The press conference will be held on Tuesday, November 6 at 13.30 at the BMW Motorrad stand. The conference will be revealed new models 2008 ready to meet the public bikers who affoller?á the hall. In addition to the new models will be on display the full range Model Year 2008.
The hall will be the scene of many activities. After the success dell'incontenibile Chris Pfeiffer last year when for the first time it was played in Italy on his F 800, back in the saddle this year to HP2 Megamoto, newly funbike home BMW Motorrad. Are there 3 performances a day from Thursday to Sunday.
BMW Motorrad also participate in the competition Enduro Cup Milan, which with BMW Motorrad Motorsport Team will deploy two 450 Sport Enduro with driving Andreas Lettenbichler and Gerhard Forster.
But that's not all on Sunday 11 is expected pluriridato of Motocross Joel Smets in the saddle of 450 Sports Enduro this year attended 4 matches of the World Enduro. Joel Sunday will be on stand BMW Motorrad to meet his fans.
Also on display at the booth will be the most beautiful motorcycles that have dominated the Paris-Dakar raid: R 900 RR that way with Jimmy Lewis, the bike that ran the raid in 1985 and R 80 G / S Dakar Paris of 1980.

SCOTT SUMMERS JOINS BMW XPLOR RACE TEAM

Woodcliff Lake, NJ  November 1, 2007 BMW Motorrad USA and BMW XPLOR are pleased to welcome Scott Summers, a pioneer of professional off-road racing, to their fast-growing racing team.
Scott Summers, one of the most celebrated off-road racers of our time, will partner with the BMW XPLOR Race Team, starting with the 2008 Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Racing Series. SummersÔÇÖ GNCC team for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons will have two riders in the XC1 class. He joins BMW after racing very successfully for American Honda for nearly two decades.
Summers first started receiving support from American Honda Motor Company during 1989. During his time with Honda, he earned nearly 100 overall national off-road event wins as well as 9 AMA Championships (five in the brutally competitive GNCC series and four in the far-reaching National Hare Scrambles Series. During his career, Summers did much more than win races and titles. He successfully transitioned from his role as a professional athlete to that of a businessman and the owner of his own race team. Since then, Summers has mentored other young up-and-coming racers, helping them understand what it takes to win at the highest level of the sport. During the 2007 GNCC Series, the most competitive Off-Road Championship in the world, Summers Racing earned podium finishes in 25% of the championship rounds.

BMW MotorradÔÇÖs sports enduro prototype made its first U.S. appearance at the GNCC (Grand National Cross Country) race in Crawfordsville, Indiana October 27-28. Former motocross world champion Simo Kirssi ÔÇô the lone BMW entrant ÔÇô unfortunately, crashed 30 minutes into the 3-hour race on Sunday, October 28.
The talented Finn rode the sports enduro to its first-ever victory in the final round of the 2007 European Cross Country Championship, held in Schefflenz, Germany, October 6-7. The on-going development of the production bike has been widely viewed by the public throughout the off-road racing season in Europe, but, until last weekend, the new enduro had never made tire tracks on American soil.
The AMA/ATVA-sanctioned Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series is America's premier off-road racing series. The 13-round race series stretches through the eastern U.S., beginning with the season-opener in Florida in March and concludes with the season-finale in Indiana in October.
