Metzeler Z6 Tire Compounds

Yes, you a right. That is the tire for a R1200RT. But I do not think it will cause you any problems.
My RT came with Z-6 tires from the factory, but with no codes. They did not last as long as the owns with a code. But Metzler said there is no difference.
The funny thing is that if you search the US site, they do not list any tires for a R1200R, but on the German site there are several choices and combos, as you saw.

Yes, no R1200R tires on the USA site. The "international" parent site (no "de" in the web site URL) shows some choices, and the printed "full line catalog" in english and the .pdf both show c-code rear and standard front.

Who at Metzeler told you there was "no difference"? For example, the C-code rear weighs 1/2 kilo more than the standard rear. When I talked with the Metzeler rep, he wasn't so blase about substitutions.

I am very interested that you got "plain" tires from the factory. Was it a USA delivery?

Cheers, Tom

Hey...this is a tire thread!

I think the tire engineers know what it all means, but the phone answerers vary.
