Explanation About the $ 2000. O-Ring

Is that a link to the page for your specific model? Do you have a late year model? At some point (Anton points this out on his site), the canister became a rolled edge and not sharp like the early ones. Technically, the rolled canister models might not need the shim from a protection standpoint. The shim does two things protects the o-ring from being cut (by the sharp edge) and also helps with the compression of the o-ring if needed. So, with a rolled edge, the shim is not necessary. But the overall dimensions need to be verified in order to rule out the shim or not.
 
I??ve measured, and figured I need 2 shims for compression. There was an article about it in the BMWON not too long ago, if my memory is correct.
But the ring was not ?¿squared?¿ at all this time. Therefore I figured I??ll need 1 more shim.
