BMW Tank Bag repair

ldhardy12

Utah 12 - what a road!
I have a BMW tank bag for my RT and the clear plastic map cover has gone beyond yellow and is turning into plastic spaghetti. Has anyone on this forum had any luck getting these bags repaired.

Hate to spend the Big $$ for a new one.

Thanks

Sure will. It looks like the link that was mentioned is no longer trusted by forum members that had tried to get their gear repaired.

I just hate to shell out $$ for a new one. The old wasn't cheap and the new one will be worse, I'm betting.

There were 4- now 5, threads using the Tag Cloud search that was mentioned. Maybe one will help.

Eisenglas is a common clear plastic used on boat/marine tops. Most anyone doing marine tops would be another source.

Ldhardy12 - my wife did a pretty good job repairing my map cover last year. My write up is under the thread "tank bag repair" from 8-10-2021 at 12:58p.m. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info Denny. My temporary fix was to cut the nasty yellow plastic off.

I went to a couple of custom upholstery shops and even to Mayer Custom saddles here in Ventura. No Bueno from everyone.
