2024 Hill Country Hangout

Hmmm, seems our original post for the Hill Country Hangout 2024 didn't make the cut in the new forum format, so here goes again! Please note as stated below, there are only 5 cabins remaining!! Better hurry!

Please join us at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in Kerrville, TX April 19-21, 2024 for a couple of days of beautiful springtime in the Texas Hill Country. The rally site is on the “hill” or west side of the park. Rally camping will be in the Fawn Hide-a-Way loop; dining hall and mini-cabins in the Midway Mini-Cabin loop. This year we have also secured the 8 cabins in the High Point Mini Cabin Loop, so we’ll have 15 cabins up for grabs for the rally. Once the rally registration opens the cabins are “first come, first served,” so don’t delay! There are only 5 cabins remaining! The GPS coordinates for the entrance to the Park at State Park Rd 19 and FM 173 are 30.011739, -99.122925. Note that this is NOT the same as the entrance to the “river” side of the park which is on the opposite or east side of FM 173. Rally Check-In opens at noon in the dining hall in the Midway Mini-Cabin Loop on April 19th.

Rally fee of $45 includes 2 nights tent camping, Friday and Saturday night dinner, coffee and doughnuts Saturday and Sunday mornings, a Poker Run ($5.00 entry fee) on Saturday, and door prizes and awards Saturday night. In addition, you are situated in the middle of some of the best riding in Central Texas, just minutes from Hwy 16 and the famed Three Sisters.

Rally Accommodations
Camping – tent site included in rally fee. Fawn Loop sites #45-#65. Sites have tables, plenty of trees and there is water available at every site. This is a tent only area. There is a restroom with showers in the Fawn Hide-a-Way Loop.

Cabins – For an additional fee there are a limited number of cabins available (Midway Mini cabins 17-23) and situated around rally central. As previously stated, we also have cabins 9 - 16 available in the High Point Mini Cabin area. Each cabin has sleeping for 4 (2 bunk beds), tables, chairs, electrical outlets, heating and AC. Cabins are First Come, First Served.

RV – Note: RV’s are NOT allowed in the rally camping area (Fawn Loop), but there are RV sites available in the park in nearby loops. These sites must be reserved and paid for through the park. You can see availability and reserve here: https://kerrvilletx.gov/1732/Reservations

Hotels – There are numerous hotels/motels in nearby Kerrville. Here’s a link to a listing: http://www.kerrvilletexascvb.com/businesses/accommodations

I've been to this rally for the past two years. You'd be hard pressed to find a better venue than the Kerrville-Schreiner Park, or a better value for your rally camping dollar. The tent camping area is large with plenty of shade trees, picnic tables, and water faucets. (You can spread out so won't hear the guy in the tent next to you coughing or snoring.) The available cabins are fairly roomy and air conditioned. The washrooms and showers are clean and located within the camping area, a short walk from your tent or cabin. And the shelter house where food is served is fairly large with several picnic tables for seating. The guys who run this rally (Bill Edwards and Mike Makowski) are experienced rally goers and planners. They know what they're doing -- it's very well organized. The food is prepared on site and has been great over the past several years. The poker run will take you thru several back roads with interesting sights. And of course, if you just prefer to ride the Texas Hill Country and enjoy the twisties and spring wildflowers, Kerrville is right in the middle of the Texas Hill Country. I've posted some pics of the 2023 rally to give you an idea of the venue.
