2016 S1000XR Nav set up

I’m trying to set up a GPS mount on my ‘16 XR with the non locking BMS NAV mount already installed. I’m thinking I will use the Garmin XT or XT2. I can’t find any information specific to the non locking mount and purchasing a locking mount seems very expensive and unnecessary. Suggestions?

If you aren't using a snap-in BMW nav or phone cradle, there are options to replace the BMW nav mount with a bar that can be used for other brands mounts. That would be my suggestion. I forget the brand(s) that are available, though.

Thanks r0ckrat, I’m trying to use the BMW nav cradle if possible. I have a RAM mount I can use but the placement isn’t as good as the BMW nav mount.

I use the connected ride cradle on both my gen 1 and 2 XR so I am not much help there. That said, I know a bunch of folks have removed the BMW mount completely or used adapters to mount Garmins or Tom Toms. Have a search over on the UK XR forum.. I am sure there are a bunch of other threads on this topic, but here are a couple to get you started.

Adapter mentioned in that thread - https://www.adapter3dmotorrad.com/e... this adapter you can,the need for any wiring
