Fuel Sensor Campaign

Took in the 2009 F650gs Twin for an oil change and found out that BMW has an internal campaign to replace the fuel sensor. Apparently there's a tendency for the sensor to send a false reading for Low Fuel. Instead of sending the warning too soon it's sending too late. Some riders felt they had 25 miles to go to empty when really all they had were 10 miles. I hadn't heard anything about this until the service manager told me about it.

I just had mine replaced

It was showing empty with the tank full...and they said they had previously replaced it under the internal campaign..

My local BMW show just replaced my fuel sending unit as part of the notice.
It appeared to be working fine before hand.
